The back casing of my first Kindle, the original model, has a bad crack (not that a crack in a device is likely to be 'good') in it and the page turn bar is very loose.

Plus, the design of the first Kindle was...well...not an award winner ('least, not the kinds of awards designers usually want to win.)

The Gemstar, quite a different kettle of monkeys. We checked out all four (we'd bought an additional one when we heard the company/service was going down) and all of them work. All the batteries took and held a charge. And they remain excellent readers.KjMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17691028465137798738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23892967.post-82052273302460541412013-01-03T19:50:09.105-06:002013-01-03T19:50:09.105-06:00It's funny, indeed, Laura. When they become successful, obsolescence gets built in. Absolute madness...Icy Sedgwickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11501193571425442406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23892967.post-29643360676000396962013-01-02T06:30:24.452-06:002013-01-02T06:30:24.452-06:00Wow.
