All through April, I wrote a blog entry per day (apart from Sundays.) And now it's the middle of May and this is my first entry for the month.
I put it down to burn-out. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it (as my mother used to say.)
Well, my story has something to do with it. I'm in edit pass number 3 on a science fiction story I've written. The goal is to have that finished soon - and then on to the first set of external eyes (I'm sure I could phrase that a little better - but it's late.)
The A to Z Challenge went well for me. Choosing a theme (done on March 31st, mind you) did make it easier than last year. In case it wasn't clear, the theme was music I listen to. Music I own in some fashion or other.
I was surprised how the first few entries of the month managed to team a movie with the music. I wasn't able to keep that up for the entire 26 entries. Perhaps if it hadn't just, sort of, happened - I might have been able to plan for it.
I managed to get around a number of the other bloggers who also took up the challenge. But not as many as I'd have wished.
Many thanks to those who visited my little cul-de-sac here on the Web. The visits and comments are sincerely appreciated.
:) it happens this way sometimes, glad you posted now though!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading about your music collection!
Glad you enjoyed the posts, Estrella. I certainly enjoyed writing them and it's a fun, if eclectic, collection.
DeleteI really enjoyed your A to Z music and reading what it meant to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura. No more than i enjoyed your posts on myths, gods and the Fae.
DeleteStill, it was fun to share the sounds I listen to.
I enjoyed your A-Z some of i your posts brought back my own musical memories others enlightened me to the existence of certain records, performers etc.
ReplyDeleteI may even take up the challenge myself next year ;)
Thanks, Helen. Glad I was able to point you in the direction of some good (a quite subjective term, I know) music.
DeleteThe challenge is fun (and panic-making at times), but you blog/write very frequently. You'd hardly have to stretch at all.
Good luck on that SciFi tale. How many people have weighed in on these three rounds?
ReplyDeleteTwo sets of eyes have seen a lot of it - so far. Two more (possibly three) and I'll call it "done".
DeleteOne of those sets belongs to a copy editor (which could be a painful - though necessary experience.
Burn out is totally understandable considering the demands of the a-z challenge. I wasn't even here for it, most of the month, what with demands of my own getting in the way.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the challenge!
Jai
Many thanks, Jai. I hope some aspects of demands on your time are easing - or your enjoying them. Whichever works the better for you.
DeleteMy best to you.
Good luck editing your story!
ReplyDeleteNew follower :)
Thank you, Britney, for the good luck wishes. The editing's going well - apart from the "what the *heck* was I thinking when I wrote that???" moments. :-}
DeleteI appreciate the "follow".
