Small Stone #13

History, lives, stories — all summed up, called up, by a road sign: Twenty Mule Team Road in the Mojave Desert in California.

We all leave our mark.

  1. Yeah, places that keep their name of old are often hilarious. :) Makes me wonder what people 200 yrs from now will think of the names we pick.

  2. I agree, Laura. There's a set of streets, one leading into the other, in Dublin: Earl St., Henry, St., Thomas St.

All named, I discovered one day, for Earl Henry Thomas.

Of course, I've been on the Santa Fe Trail — there's a portion of it, still so named, here in Kansas City.

As to what will be made of more recent street names in the future, who knows?
