X: Xuefei Yang

A Chinese performer of classical guitar, Xuefei Yang brings a different sensibility to the traditional guitar repertoire. Her performance of Rodrigo's Concierto De Aranjuez is gorgeous. Beautifully nuanced. She's also turned her hand, guitar, talent to transcribing some of Bach's harpsichord and violin concerti for guitar.

The results sit very well with this listener (confessing a love, both of Bach and classical guitar.)

Finally, to a China-inspired album of music - Si Ji (Four Seasons). Beautiful music, well-adapted to the guitar and played with grace and style.

  1. I was confused for a moment as I listened to her music on Amazon. It reminded me of Spain. Then I looked at the cover. :D It's early...

  2. This is some of my favorite music. Not a guitar in sight. :)
