An interesting task: take 75 words or less to write a complete story, concentrating on the sense of hearing rather than the, more usual, sense of sight. So, sounds in favor of visual images.
After some hours, 113 words pared down to 75 - to 69 at one point but that rendered the piece bloodless. So, back up to 75.
Several revisions later, trying to remove the sameness that had crept into the sentence structure, down to 74 words. No longer sure if the result is as I would wish it to be.
A difficult task, this weighing of every word to see if it can pay its freight in the piece.
This for 75 words. Whatever am I to do with 50,000?
